Before the crew arrives
You'll get a confirmation call the evening before your move with a confirmed arrival window (usually a 1-hour window, e.g., 8–9am). The morning of your move, expect a quick call when the crew is about 30 minutes away.
When the crew arrives
The team lead will introduce themselves, do a quick walkthrough of your property with you, and confirm the plan. They'll ask about: any items that aren't moving, any particularly fragile pieces, access at the destination (stairs, lifts, parking), and anything that needs to be disassembled.
This walkthrough typically takes 5–10 minutes and prevents surprises later. Be honest about access challenges — we're not judging your third-floor walk-up, we just need to know about it.
The loading process
Furniture gets wrapped in moving blankets first. Our team use trolleys, furniture sliders, and straps to move heavy items without dragging. The truck is loaded heaviest to lightest, back to front, with items secured to prevent movement in transit.
For a standard 2-bedroom move, loading typically takes 1.5–3 hours depending on how much there is and access.
In transit
Once loaded, the team heads to the destination. If you're following separately, you'll typically arrive around the same time or shortly after. Our drivers know Melbourne well and account for traffic.
At the destination
The team lead will do another quick walkthrough to confirm where furniture goes. Point to rooms, not specific positions — let the crew bring items in, then direct placement once they're inside. It's faster and easier than trying to coordinate in a doorway.
Reassembly and final check
If we disassembled anything, we reassemble it at the destination. Once everything is in, the team lead will walk through with you to confirm everything is where you want it and in good condition.
Payment happens after the job is complete and you're satisfied. We invoice exactly what was quoted — no extra charges for going slightly over the estimated time unless the scope significantly changes (and we'd discuss that with you beforehand).
What makes a move go smoothly
In our experience, the moves that go perfectly have three things in common: boxes are packed, sealed, and ready before the crew arrives; access at both properties is pre-arranged (parking, lifts, neighbours notified); and the client is present and available for the first 10 minutes to answer questions.
That's it. The rest is our job.
